The top handle on the Kanken sling makes it easy to carry, and the main compartment is spacious enough for the bulkiest of folders. A removable seat cushion provides a plush place to sit while waiting for the bus or train. Besides the obvious padded seat pad, the pack also features a nifty name and address label in the main compartment.

The main compartment of the Kanken is complemented by a front zipper pouch, straps that convert it into a tote, and a rain flap that prevents water from seeping in. It also comes with a handy carrying system containing two slender adjustable shoulder straps.
